News and Announcements / Scaling Things Back...
« on: August 11, 2020, 06:35:09 PM »
This has been a long time coming, but I need to go ahead and make the public announcement about this.

After much consideration and some negative experiences in opening our doors to open registration, I believe it is time for us to scale back the scope of the server. Moving forward, we will be running the servers under an allow-list only situation and spinning down the public presence of Frantic Me.

COVID-19 and other events of this year have really put a damper on myself and the staff of the server, to the point that we (I) really let things slide as far as advertising.

The server will still be around, and you are welcome to bring friends in, but please ensure that we won't have to spend a lot of time moderating them. We, like you, are here to play as a hobby and the burden of fielding new players has grown increasingly unbearable.

The server is donor-supported through Christmas and I presently have donations disabled pending talking with everyone and seeking the best course of action.

I personally would be fine with dialing back the resources to the main vanilla server and fielding modded servers for a while. We have a fairly beefy machine for hosting and it can handle experiments until we find something more engaging for players.

If we reach Christmas and we haven't decided on something, I'll work with each player on the server to get you a schematic of your structures. We will also host the map for download (over 30GB).

News and Announcements / Dak Airship Invasion!
« on: July 03, 2020, 06:48:15 PM »
This event was created and drafted by our very own madman General_Dakkar. Details, written by him, are below. Feel free to talk with him if you have any questions!

This is a Special Combat Event where you and your friends and allies will be put to the test against all odds and the legions of the Dak Army.

Many of the enemies in this event will be harder than normal, so do what ever it takes to defeat them. In this event, special lore items will be obtainable and some are exclusive only to this event!

WARNING!!! Many of the enemies in this event will take you're gear if you die and use it against you or others. Chance to lose gear so be careful.

Special Rules
  • You cannot build with in 20 blocks of the Airship and its Gunships. You can use Ender Pearls, Elytras, or the Gravity Cannons to get on top of them if you wish.
  • You can use lava and water buckets in anyway you see fit, Just don't use them to make a cobblestone path up to the airships ((You can use lava and water buckets near them if ya want)). You can also make 5 block pillars also and be out of reach if you wish to fight against them. ((There will be ranged enemies, might be dangerous)).
  • Try your best to not get other people's gear mixed up with others when several people die. The enemies have a chance to drop what they are wearing so there will be plenty around.
  • Rules are subject to change and I may add another rule if needed.
  • Have Fun!

The Event Phases.

In the event, There will be 4 massive waves of enemies ranging from 50-150 enemies per wave. Most of the enemies will be Iron Class enemies with some gold mixed in and a few Diamond class enemies. Each Wave will have 1 Dak Commander that spawns in near the end of the Wave. Use Team work to take down the Dak Commander, He is hard to kill and tough to beat and don't let him pick up any melee weapons. He is considered a Boss class enemy and don't let him single a person out. He is well known for doing that. Dak Commanders also Drop Lore Gear.

Special Waves!
Besides the main siege event, There will be 3 special waves of about 5-10 enemies in each wave that will be harder then normal. These enemies will be carrying Lore items for the event and will be harder to kill then other enemies.

Elite Kill Squad Wave!
During the main Event, There will be 1 Elite Kill squad that will be deployed against everyone. This squad has 6-8 enemies in it. These enemies are classed as Emerald/Obsidian and they will also drop Lore based Gear. They are very hard to kill. Be careful!
Airship, Gunships, and the Final Boss

There will be 4 Gunships with 3 Gunship pilots each. Each of these Redstone/Mob Boss contraptions are considered a single entity.
The Main Airship will have 6 Pilots/Gun Turrets that need to be taken down before you are given a chance to fight the Final Boss.

Roshamikura, The Equalizer, The Final boss will spawn after the Airship defenses have been brought down. This Boss will spawn with a handful of minions equal to the number of players in the event. The Boss and all of her minions all drop Fully Enchanted Netherite Lore Gear, Be ready for a hard fight and I wish you guys the best of luck in the event. Lots of Lore gear to win and many enemies to defeat and lots of fun!

Submit your build here.

If possible, include a screenshot. At minimum, we need coordinates and a description.

This thread will be locked when the deadline is reached.

News and Announcements / Building Contest
« on: May 07, 2020, 12:52:12 PM »
We are holding a building contest! The winner's build will be moved to spawn and placed somewhere accordingly. If it doesn't fit in spawn, we will instead place a warp sign to it and region it off for you (so probably not wise to live in it!)

The theme for the building contest will be....

Your build should be something that you wouldn't encounter in your travels, something foreign to Minecraft. Whether that be a glimpse into the ethereal plane, or a Lovecraftian horror from the depths.

Some general rules you must follow while building:
  • 1-2 people should participate in the build, maximum
  • You can purchase materials from people and that won't count towards them participating
  • The build must be performed in survival mode, on the server. Feel free to use a creative test world in single player, of course
  • Your build must be smaller than 50x50x50 blocks
  • The build must adhere to server build rules, gravity rule not included

The build deadline is May 31st at 12AM PT. If you wish to participate in the build, please submit your build by the deadline. We will be opening submissions up later this week.

We are still working out build judges and will post once we have decided on how to handle that.

Camera man was killed, these are the only shots recoverable.

This weekend we will begin advertising the server on public listing sites. We likely will be setting up server voting but presently we do not have any specific rewards planned for doing as such.

With the public launch will come some changes to the rules. The main changes are streamlining some of the rules, re-wording some things to better fit how we've modified things, and a couple of clarifications on policy. If you haven't read the rules lately, now is a great time to check those out here:

We are actively working to add borders to the dynmap to define player-named continents, structures, and oceans, as well as borders for server-promoted towns. We will be working with Mayors to get POIs inside of their towns added as icons to the map as well.

The public launch will likely bring several new players to the server, many of which will be griefers. I will be working with the Head Mods and Mods to ensure that we have coverage available to help deal with griefers and help new players get acquainted with the server.

There are chances that we will receive some DDoS attacks as well. To help deal with that, we will be working with our hosting provider to see if we can setup some alternative connection points.

I plan to activate the server listings on Friday around 6PM EST.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

News and Announcements / Thank you
« on: April 21, 2020, 05:10:52 AM »
I just wanted to tell you guys thank you.

These past few days have been some of the best I've had. Just seeing everything come to life on this server and seeing all these old and new faces show up has been humbling.

Thanks to your donations, we are set to keep the server online for the next 5 months, even after our machine upgrade. That is absolutely not something I expected and it has totally caught me off guard to see us absolutely blow past our monthly goals so quickly.

I am absolutely amazed and so happy to see this server really starting to come into its own. We already have 2 towns and I've heard murmurs of a 3rd and maybe a 4th being constructed.

Keep being awesome, and stay safe out there IRL everyone. Maybe if you have a loved one you haven't spoken to in a while, reach out and let them know you are thinking of them. I think if everyone did that, it may make this virus lockdown a little more bearable.

Keep being awesome everyone.

We have added shops for materials from The End, and drops from Phantoms since we have both disabled.

The high-value End materials will go into the server's vault and be used for in-game contests. The End Stone and Phantom Membrane are 1:1 for Cobble and Rotten Flesh.

We are open to feedback regarding the shop prices, however we reached the prices we did based on rarity of the items.

News and Announcements / Mod Applications & New Hardware
« on: April 17, 2020, 06:19:00 PM »
We have started accepting moderator applications. You can apply through the link in the Server menu at the top of the site.

Regarding our hardware, we are running into memory limitations and we may need to look into provisioning a fully dedicated machine instead of the VDS we are using for the server.

As part of this, we are also considering moving the server to the West Coast of the US to better serve our userbase. Presently our server is in Chicago.

The advantages of new hardware include more memory and better CPU performance, which will ensure I can keep the view-distance higher. This also opens the option for hosting additional servers in the future.

The disadvantage is the price. Moving to a dedicated machine will double the hosting costs. With our current configuration, your donations have us covered for the next 5 months. The dedicated machine will likely half that amount of time.

I'd like opinions on how you guys want me to proceed. I am about at the limits of what I can do to optimize the server on our current specifications, but I don't want to move forward on something more expensive without getting your opinion.

News and Announcements / Donations, The Nether, and You!
« on: April 15, 2020, 03:25:55 PM »

After being asked about it a few times, I finally sat down and started work on the donation system.

Right now, things should credit to you correctly. I will be working to handle a goal tracker, demotions, and failed donations/chargebacks as the days continue, however you are welcome to donate using the link in the Server menu at the top of the forums. You can also reach the page here:

The Nether:

With 1.16 around the corner, I'd like to re-affirm that we will be resetting The Nether in order to allow the new terrain to generate. As such, you are free to pick it clean of resources as long as something isn't marked for claim.

If you have built in the dimension and want to keep your creation, please contact a Head Mod so we can discuss your options.

Thank you guys so much for your support. I have been absolutely amazed by the amount of activity we've already seen. I haven't even advertised the server on the listing sites yet and we have nearly 30 accounts registered. That blows my mind.

You all are awesome and I am so happy to see familiar faces coming back to visit.

Policy Vote:
We have a couple of policy questions we'd like opinions on as well if you'd check out and

News and Announcements / It Just Won't Stay Dead!
« on: April 11, 2020, 04:50:05 PM »
After literally YEARS, we are back!

We are still putting some finishing touches on things, and working to get spawn finished, but starting later tonight, we will be dropping the whitelist and allowing users to register and play on the server.

If you've already registered, you likely haven't seen the new rules post here:

Please be sure to read that if you registered before the registration quiz was required!

The server is now open for anyone to join and play on. Please make use of the forums to report any issues you run into and happy building!
